Fertility in Ancient Chinese Culture

When you think of Chinese culture, what is one of the first images or thoughts that pops into your head? Apart from Chinese food I think of youthfulness, longevity, old people who still look very young.

The most interesting fact about Chinese Medicine is that the original motivation for this system of healing was to discover the secrets of life, Chinese Medicine is the worlds best kept secret with it’s profoundly deep understanding of the relationships between your internal organs and reproductive system.

For about 2500 years, practitioners have investigated and recorded methods using Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine to create life (fertility) and longevity (optimal health and wellbeing) this system of medicine is known today as Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Infertility Causes

There are many causes for both male and female infertility, some can be diagnosed using Western Medicine methods such as Endometriosis and blocked fallopian tubes but then there are also many cases of infertility where the cause is unexplainable. Here is a short list of the most common causes that we work with in our clinic:

• PCOS & Ovulatory Dysfunction
• High FSH / Low AMH / “Poor Responder”
• The Unexplained Factor (usually internal organ disfunction that can not be measured with Western medicine, but very often easily fixed with Chinese Medicine)

Treatment of Fertility

Infertility treatment varies from patient to patient, depending on their individual constitution.
